Tracy Vasquez - Rio Research Roundup Coordinator of U.S. and Mexico Schools
Tracy was born and raised in beautiful Laredo, Texas. The oldest of four siblings, she grew up with two great role models, her mother and father. Her mother was a stay-at-home mom who showed her the importance of family and that there is no greater love than that of your children. Her late father instilled in her the value of hard work and that in order to realize your dreams, you must try your hardest and never give up.
She graduated in the top 10 percent from Nixon High School in 1996, and became the first member in her family to graduate from college. She graduated from Texas A&M International University with a degree in Sociology and minor in Psychology.
She began her career in social services as a caseworker and counselor for at-risk students and their families, which showed her that her true passion was working with children. She became an elementary classroom teacher in 2005 and spent 10 years “in one of the most wonderful and gratifying experiences I've ever had.”
She and her husband of 16 years, David Vasquez, have three beautiful children, Genesis, David Jr., and Damien that provide the motivation for Tracy to keep going and inspire her to do her best.
"I am so grateful for the opportunity to work with RGISC and look forward to advancing the mission of this wonderful organization."
