Why Become A Member?

The Rio Grande International Study Center prides itself in the outreach of its work. We believe that the projects we undertake, the events we help coordinate, and the lives we help change are all just the cornerstones to the eventual revival of the Laredo as a vibrant and colorful community. Our passion stems from the heart of South Texas, the beautiful Rio Grande, which supplies all of us with the water, ecosystem, and biodiversity that is found in no other place in the world. We strive to protect the only source of drinking water that we have and to enliven the wildlife that share their habitats with us.

Unfortunately, this is an endeavor that proves to be increasingly harder and harder to fulfill with each passing year, with Laredo and its communities growing and expanding in every possible direction. And with RGISC staying as a small non-profit, with only a few full time members around the year, we implore the citizens of South Texas to become involved in the protection of the river we all share. With the established experience that RGISC has culminated throughout our twenty-one year period, we are Laredo’s best qualified and best equipped organization to advocate environmental awareness and education to the public.

Through your donation by becoming a certified member of the Rio Grande International Study Center, we promise to continually serve South Texas and beyond through the dozens of environmental events, projects, and engagements that we have throughout the year.

Becoming a member also comes with all the splendor that RGISC can offer, including free passes to local attractions, free, durable reusable bags, and even a spot on our website for all to see your generous contribution to the commitment of our cause. In the end, any donation, large or small, will always be put to the best of use and will always be used to benefit you and the community that we all wish to be beautiful, flourishing, and of course, entirely eco-friendly.
