Dr. Tagi Sagafi-nejad

Born in the remote village of Bainabaj in Eastern Iran, Dr. Sagafi-nejad has had a long academic career that spans four decades. He earned his MA and PhD from the University of Pennsylvania and has taught at several universities including Penn, U of Washington, Loyola, UT Austin, and Texas A&M International University, where he was recruited as founder and director of the PhD program in International Business. He is author of eight scholarly books, including The UN and Transnational Corporations (2008), some fifty academic journal articles, and numerous papers. He has served as a consultant to governments, corporations and the United Nations. Retired from Loyola (2002) and Texas A&M International University (2013), Dr. Sagafi-nejad enjoys his wife Nancy, their three grandchildren, and his garden. He serves on the board of directors of the academic think tank Cyrus Institute of Knowledge (CIK), where he serves as the editor of its flagship journal, Cyrus Chronicle. He also serves on the board of directors of the Rio Grande International Study Center (RGISC), a Laredo-based environmental preservation and advocacy organization.
